1 ASSEMBLY
The TBOLT SAVOX MINI SERVO HORIZONTAL MOUNT includes a base, a mounting strap, and QTY 6 mounting screws. (Please note: SAVOX MINI Servos are sold separately).
2 SELECT MOUNTING LOCATION
Select a suitable mounting location for the TBOLT SAVOX MINI SERVO HORIZONTAL MOUNT. The TBOLT SAVOX MINI SERVO HORIZONTAL MOUNT requires a set of wood rails (NOT INCLUDED - use spruce or basswood - or another suitable hardwood). You may want to fit the rails between wing or tail ribs. The rails need to be 1/4" thick (high), and at least 1/4" wide (you can use wider rails if necessary). Use the base as a template to position the rails.
2 POSITION RAILS
Use the TBOLT SAVOX MINI SERVO HORIZONTAL MOUNT BASE as a template to finalize the location of the rails and position for drilling the mounting holes.
3 DRILL MOUNTING HOLES
Use the BASE as a template and with a 1/32" drill bit, drill the six pilot holes needed for the mount screws (Please note: You can glue the BASE in place as an alternative to using the screws. If gluing - we recommend a high quality Epoxy (Hysol 9462 found here), or a Methacrylate Adhesive (TBA MMA-3B found here).
4 FASTEN BASE
Use the four outside holes and longer screws to attach the TBOLT SAVOX MINI SERVO HORIZONAL MOUNT BASE to the rails. Insert the servo (with attached servo arm) into the BASE as a final check to make sure you have have everything lined up and the servo and servo arm have enough clearance. If you encounter an issue - adjust the BASE and re-drill the holes.
5 FASTEN STRAP
Use the two inside holes and shorter screws to attach the STRAP to the BASE and rails.
6 TEST SERVO
Test the servo's movement to make sure everything is solid and the movement is free. You will need to fabricate a cover with a slot (for the servo arm movement) or purchase a cover. We have covers available here
